Rental Protection Plan (RPP)
Protect Your Rental, Reduce Your Risk
At Rocky Rents, we understand that job sites can be unpredictable. Our Rental Protection Plan (RPP) is designed to provide peace of mind by limiting your financial responsibility in case of accidental equipment damage or theft—helping you stay focused on getting the job done.
What Is the RPP?
The RPP is an optional plan that modifies certain terms of your lease agreement. When added to your rental, the RPP helps reduce your out-of-pocket costs related to covered damages or loss. For a small fee (15% of the rental cost), we’ll waive specific claims due to accidental damage or theft, as long as the equipment was used responsibly and under normal conditions.
Please Note: The RPP is not insurance. It is a risk reduction plan that is only valid when your rental account is in good standing and certain conditions are met.
How Does the RPP Work?
If you choose the RPP:
You’ll pay an additional fee (15% of your rental charges).
In case of accidental damage or theft, Rocky Rents may cover part or all of the repair/replacement cost (subject to terms).
You must notify us within 24 hours of any incident.
You will be responsible for a deductible of 10% of either the replacement value or repair cost (plus tax).
What’s Covered Under RPP?
Accidental damage during normal and careful use
Theft with valid police report and proof of responsible handling
Physical damage from job-site use (within operational limits)
What’s Not Covered Under RPP?
Even with RPP, you remain fully liable for damages caused by:
Misuse, negligence, or operation that violates lease terms
Use of machines in or around water, mud, fire, or corrosive environments
Leaving keys in the machine while unattended
Glass, tire, or track damage
Overturning or overloading equipment
Acts of nature (floods, storms, earthquakes)
Wrong fuel or fluid use
Vandalism without a police report
Important: If your own insurance is rejected or expires during the rental, RPP charges may apply automatically until valid proof is provided.
When to Add RPP?
RPP must be accepted before or at the time of rental. It cannot be added retroactively. If you choose not to take RPP, you must provide proof of property insurance that meets our requirements.
What Happens If Equipment Is Recovered?
If a stolen item is recovered, Rocky Rents retains ownership, regardless of any insurance or RPP payment. The lessee must return the item immediately. Rocky Rents reserves the right to pursue third-party claims on behalf of the renter for damaged or lost items.
